About AntiSlip Gel

How the treatment works and which kit may suit your space.

What is AntiSlip Gel?

AntiSlip Gel is a DIY surface treatment designed to improve traction on suitable tiled and hard mineral surfaces, particularly in areas that can become slippery when wet.

It works with the surface rather than covering it with a mat, coating or adhesive strip, helping preserve the original look of your floor.

How does AntiSlip Gel work?

The treatment creates microscopic changes in the surface that help improve grip underfoot. These changes are generally not visible during normal use, but they can increase traction when the treated area becomes wet.

Results vary depending on the surface material, finish, condition and application. Always follow the supplied instructions and test a small, inconspicuous area first.

Is AntiSlip Gel a coating or paint?

No. AntiSlip Gel is not a painted coating, adhesive strip or textured film applied over the floor. It is a treatment used on compatible surfaces and is then thoroughly rinsed away according to the application instructions.

Will the treatment change the appearance of my tiles?

AntiSlip Gel is designed to provide an invisible result on suitable surfaces when applied correctly. However, every tile and finish can react differently.

Always complete a small test patch in an inconspicuous area and allow it to dry fully before treating the entire surface.

Which kit should I choose?

The smaller kit is generally best for compact areas such as a shower floor or small bathroom. Larger kits and bundles are more suitable for larger bathrooms, patios, pool surrounds or multiple areas.

Measure the area before ordering and check the current coverage information on each product page. Porous, textured or uneven surfaces may require more product.

Suitable Surfaces

Guidance for tiles, wet areas and surfaces that require testing.

What surfaces can AntiSlip Gel be used on?

AntiSlip Gel is intended for compatible tiled and hard mineral surfaces. Suitability can depend on the material, glaze, sealer, polish and overall condition of the surface.

Common applications may include:

  • Bathroom and shower tiles
  • Pool surrounds
  • Patios and outdoor tiled areas
  • Entryways and laundries
  • Selected ceramic and porcelain surfaces

Always test first. Contact us before application if you are unsure about the material or finish.

Can I use it on timber, vinyl, laminate or painted floors?

AntiSlip Gel should not be assumed suitable for timber, laminate, vinyl, painted, coated or resin-based floors. These materials can react differently from mineral tile surfaces.

Please contact us with the exact material before applying the treatment.

Can it be used on polished or high-gloss tiles?

Some polished or glossy mineral surfaces may be suitable, but they require careful testing. The treatment could affect the finish if it is left on too long or used on an incompatible surface.

Complete a small test patch, follow the timing instructions closely and inspect the area once completely dry.

Can I use it indoors and outdoors?

Yes, AntiSlip Gel may be used in suitable indoor and outdoor areas. Application conditions matter, particularly outdoors.

Avoid applying it to hot surfaces, in direct intense sunlight, during rain or when the product may dry before it can be properly rinsed.

Can I use it around a pool?

AntiSlip Gel may be suitable for compatible tiled or mineral pool surrounds. The area should be clean, free from pool chemicals and fully accessible for controlled application and thorough rinsing.

Prevent the treatment and rinse water from entering the pool. Test a small area first, especially on natural stone, sealed or decorative surfaces.

Can it be applied over sealed tiles?

A sealer can reduce or prevent the treatment from interacting with the underlying surface. Results may therefore be limited or uneven on sealed tiles.

Confirm whether the surface has been sealed and test first. For recently installed or sealed tiles, consult the tile or sealer manufacturer before treatment.

Application

Preparing, applying and rinsing the treatment correctly.

Is AntiSlip Gel easy to apply?

AntiSlip Gel is designed as a DIY treatment. The process generally involves cleaning and preparing the surface, applying an even layer, allowing it to react for the instructed period and then thoroughly rinsing the area.

Carefully read the full instructions before beginning and have all required tools, water and protective equipment ready.

Do I need to clean the floor first?

Yes. Proper preparation is essential. Dirt, oils, soap residue, wax, polish, mould, sealers and cleaning-product build-up can interfere with the treatment and produce inconsistent results.

Clean the area thoroughly, rinse away all cleaner and allow the surface to reach the condition specified in the supplied instructions before applying the gel.

Why do I need to test a small area first?

Tiles can vary significantly in material, glaze, polish, sealer and condition. A test patch helps you confirm compatibility, appearance, reaction time and grip before treating the full area.

Choose an inconspicuous section, follow the instructions exactly and assess the patch once it has been rinsed and fully dried.

How long should I leave the gel on?

Follow the timing included with your specific AntiSlip Gel kit. Reaction time can vary according to the surface and surrounding conditions.

Do not leave the product unattended or allow it to dry on the surface. Use your test patch to help assess the appropriate result before completing the full area.

Can I apply the product in sections?

Yes. Working in manageable sections can help maintain an even application and prevent the product from drying before rinsing.

Plan the sections carefully and avoid leaving visible untreated gaps between them.

What safety precautions should I take?

Read the product label and supplied instructions before use. Wear the recommended personal protective equipment, maintain good ventilation and keep children and pets away from the area during application.

Protect nearby fixtures and incompatible materials from contact, and make sure you have immediate access to sufficient clean water for rinsing.

Care and Results

Cleaning, maintenance and what to expect after treatment.

How soon can the treated area be used?

After application, the area must be thoroughly rinsed and made safe in accordance with the supplied instructions. Allow the surface to dry before inspecting the finish and returning it to normal use.

Do not use the area while product residue remains or while the floor is unsafe to access.

How should I clean the treated surface?

Clean the area regularly to prevent soap, body oils, grease, algae and general residue from reducing traction.

Use cleaning products suitable for the underlying tile or surface. Avoid waxes, polishes or coatings that may fill the microscopic texture or create a new slippery layer.

How long does the treatment last?

Longevity depends on the surface, traffic, environmental exposure, cleaning routine and whether coatings or residues build up over time.

Monitor the treated area and maintain it regularly. Re-treatment may eventually be required where traction has reduced.

Does AntiSlip Gel guarantee that nobody will slip?

No product can eliminate every risk of slipping or falling. AntiSlip Gel is intended to improve traction on suitable surfaces, but safety also depends on footwear, contaminants, cleaning, drainage, mobility and how the area is used.

Continue using appropriate safety measures such as good lighting, handrails, drainage, supervision and regular cleaning where relevant.

What should I do if the surface still feels slippery?

First, clean the area thoroughly to remove soap, oils, grease, algae or other residue. If the surface remains slippery, stop using the area until it can be assessed safely.
